Acupuncture for Chronic Pain in Flatiron NYC

I’ve received treatment from many acupuncture practitioners and Masa is by far the best. He is consultative, uses smaller needles, and gets tremendous results. I had a kink in my neck for months that Masa was able to resolve after only two sessions. A family member visited him and he cured her headache in a single session. Really impressive! Highly recommend Masa if you need acupuncture.

I had not experienced acupuncture before, but I was introduced to Dr. Adachi by a trusted friend. I am deeply impressed by his dedication and the sophistication of his acupuncture techniques. Since then, he has consistently provided exceptional care for my well-being.

We can help your chronic pain if any of the following applies to you:

Welcome to Adachi Acupuncture & Herb Clinic, in Manhattan, New York!

I’m Masayuki Adachi, the founder of Adachi Acupuncture & Herb Clinic. We take pride in specializing in the treatment of chronic pain with a unique approach. Chronic pain affects countless individuals, impacting their bodies, minds, and overall well-being. Unfortunately, the true mechanism behind chronic pain is often misunderstood and improperly addressed. Let me shed some light on this:

85% OF THE CAUSES OF BACK PAIN ARE UNKNOWN IN CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE.

The majority of back pain actually originates from areas other than the back itself. Unlike common health practitioners, at Adachi Acupuncture Clinic, we don't simply put needles where you feel the pain because...

where you feel the pain may not necessarily be the root cause of the problem.

Addressing only the pain location won't fully resolve your back pain. Without correcting the underlying cause, the problem may return. Through my 20 years of experience as a healthcare practitioner, I've learned that...

Abnormalities of the spine do not cause most chronic back pain.

Contrary to the belief that spinal abnormalities are the common cause of back pain, recent MRI studies have shown otherwise. Severe herniated disks may be present in some individuals with no back pain at all. Surprisingly, your body, be it your back, neck, or knees, lacks the ability to feel pain. It is your brain (mind) that perceives the pain, making it...

All pain originates in the brain (mind).

The connection between your brain and emotions is profound. Pain isn't just a "bottom-up" process; it's an "output" of the brain and can be influenced by emotions, memories, thoughts, and other perceptions. Understanding this is particularly important when dealing with chronic pain.

At our clinic, we practice an acupuncture method based on the integration of world-renowned Dr. Tan’s Balance Method and the Japanese meridian palpation technique. I will identify your problem Organs from the Five Elements (Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung, Kidney). I will then determine the “sick meridians” that cause the pain physically and mentally and put needles to the specific points to treat the underlying problem. A defining characteristic of Dr. Tan’s Balance Method is how soon the feeling of pain improves. Often, patients experience the location of pain moves, the area of pain gets smaller, or the intensity of pain decreases soon after needles are inserted. (Check the link.)

In your session, I will also find out WHAT, WHERE, and WHY causes your pain/symptoms and tell you HOW to improve it on your own, so eventually, you don’t need to keep coming back to my clinic.

My goal is not only to get rid of your pain but to provide you with that expertise so the problem won’t come back or you know how to treat yourself.

I believe that knowing that information and knowledge are as essential as the actual treatment, and that has the power to heal your pain or other symptoms.

In addition to chronic pain management, I also treat a wide range of conditions such as anxiety, stress, insomnia, allergy, digestive disorders, autoimmune disease, and fibromyalgia. For more conditions, check what we treat.

I’m looking forward to helping you with your pain-free life!

The Benefits of the Anti-Inflammatory Diet

When people face a variety of health challenges or simply changes in how they feel and their relationship to food, they may change their philosophy and look to food as medicine. And for those diligent enough to do the research, they may discover the anti-inflammatory diet—a nutritional approach that some say has transformed their life.

The Science Behind Acupuncture and ADHD

When people first hear the diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for either themselves or their children, there can be a mix of relief and apprehension. The relief comes from understanding the challenges that must be faced; the apprehension stems from concerns about the long-term use of stimulant medications. If you face such a diagnosis and are looking

The Synergy of Acupuncture and Chiropractic Care: A Path to Holistic Healing

Acupuncture and chiropractic care are two complementary therapies rooted in vastly different traditions but with a shared goal of restoring balance and promoting the body’s natural ability to heal. While acupuncture has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), focusing on the flow of energy through meridians, chiropractic care stems from Western practices that emphasize spinal alignment and nervous
